Our Story
Trinidad-based since 1970

Caribbean Market Research Ltd. was established in 1970 in the twin island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. Over more than five decades, we have run quantitative and qualitative studies across the English, Spanish, French and Dutch-speaking Caribbean for regional brands, multinationals and the Caribbean offices of Fortune 500 firms.

We use conventional methods where they work and modern methods where they don't. Our field teams grew up in the markets they research and that shows up in response rates and the quality of the open-ends.

We don't parachute in for a project and leave. Our field teams live in the markets we cover and work in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Patois and Papiamento. The same enumerator bench is in market month after month, which is what gets a low-incidence study to fielded sample without burning the population.

Today, fieldwork, data processing, project management and client communication all run out of our Port of Spain office. One team in Port of Spain, 55+ years in continuous operation, runs studies across 20+ Caribbean territories.

Supervised Fieldwork
One supervisor and a maximum of four interviewers per vehicle, on every survey since 1970. No solo fieldwork ever. The rule locks in methodology compliance and in-field quality validation.
Milestones
55+ years of growth
1970
Founded in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago by Enid Bayley, establishing the first full service market research company in the region.
1980
Brenda Bayley joined the firm to shadow Enid Bayley, apprenticing through field, coding and reporting before later assuming the Managing Director role.
1980s
Expanded research operations across the Eastern Caribbean, building field teams in Barbados, Jamaica and Guyana.
1990s
Became an ESOMAR member, adopting international research standards. Partnered with global firms including ACNielsen, KANTAR and TNS.
2000s
Pioneered CAPI and CATI methodologies in the Caribbean region. Expanded client roster to include multinationals like Nestlé, Unilever and Heineken.
Today
Active research operations in 20+ territories with 500+ clients, delivering CAWI, mobile surveys and hybrid methodologies alongside our proven field research.
